Sri Lanka is in a severe economic crisis due to the economic downturn.In Sri Lanka, there is a shortage of food items due to inflation and food items could not be imported due to lack of foreign exchange reserves.There has been a severe shortage of essential commodities of the people such as rice lentils wheat milk oil and prices have increased many times over.He said the shortage of essential commodities in the country was due to lack of foreign exchange and people were told to switch to subsistence farming thus reducing food production in the country.This will affect the livelihood of the people of Sri Lanka. If this situation continues, there will be starvation in Sri Lanka. The people of that country will resort to violence against the Sri Lankan government.The Sri Lankan government should stop hoarding food items. Only the essentials of the people should be imported.
